THE SHORT VERSION

Identify the Aprés system and selected tip configuration, then check the complete equipment and professional-use requirements before deciding whether the kit fits your needs.

Gel-X names a system; soft gel can describe a material

Aprés describes Gel-X as preformed, full-coverage soft-gel extensions. The tips already have their shape and structure. The brand's system includes products for preparing and attaching them; a loose box of tips is only one component.

Ready-to-wear soft-gel press-ons can use a different attachment method. Doonails, for example, describes finished soft-gel nails applied with adhesive tabs or nail glue, without a UV lamp. This distinction concerns how the product works, not a ranking of quality. A gel material or finish does not identify the adhesive.

Read the selected configuration, not just the kit name

The Signature Kit product page offers a required tip selection and lists one selected Signature Mini box with the configured order. Check its profile, shape, and length before proceeding. The same page lists preparation products, Extend Gel, top gelcoat, an Omni light, and smaller tools.

Keep the kit and the tip-box format separate in your notes. Aprés documents Mini boxes with 280 pieces and larger boxes with 600 pieces. A larger tip box supplies more inventory; it does not by itself supply a complete application system. Nor does the total piece count establish how many well-fitting sets you can make.

Choose the profile separately from the outline

Natural and Sculpted describe different profiles within the Aprés range. The manufacturer describes Natural tips as having a shallower crosswise curve, and Sculpted tips as having a deeper curve and higher apex. Almond, square, and other outline names describe a different choice.

Record both choices when comparing products. Two almond tips can differ in profile, length, and size. Use the measurements and fitting guidance for the selected line instead of transferring a previous size number automatically. If the fit is unclear, resolve it before application.

The Gold Omni light has a specific role

Aprés identifies the Gold Omni as a flash-curing light. Its Signature Kit application directions also require a full cure under a full-size LED lamp. The included portable light should therefore not be treated as proof that the box supplies every piece of equipment required.

Use the current instructions for the exact Extend Gel and lamp combination. This guide does not supply a universal exposure time. For the broader distinction between attachment gel, decorative gel, and conventional adhesive, use our separate guide to kits with a UV light.

Respect the product's intended use

The Signature Kit page labels the product “For Professional Use Only.” Treat that label as part of the decision. A starter-kit name, convenient package, or beginner-oriented description does not override it.

Keep the selected product names and current instructions together, including removal requirements. This is a documentation-based explanation, not a hands-on performance review. It does not establish wear time, individual suitability, or freedom from allergic reactions.

A few common questions

Is a Gel-X tip box a complete kit?

No. A tip box supplies the extensions. Check the separate preparation, attachment, finishing, and equipment requirements.

Does the included Omni light complete every curing step?

The Signature instructions distinguish Omni flash curing from full curing under a full-size LED lamp. Follow the complete specified process.

Does soft gel always mean Gel-X?

No. Other products use soft gel as a material description. Gel-X identifies the Aprés extension system; read each product's attachment instructions.
